The chemical substances leaked into the river at Phouxangkham village, Luangprabang Laos

 

KPL. A truck that carries chemical substances overturned and the chemical substances leaked into the river at Phouxangkham village, Luangprabang on April 03, 2024, at around 15:30. Now, the fish started dying and floating on the river, and some people who were not aware of the incident, still collecting those fishes to consume.

For this incident, the Administrative Office of Luangprabang has issued a warning notice to the village chiefs and people in Luangprabang, the notice has warned the people not to bath in the river in the area of Phouxangkham village to the mouth of Khan River, for Mekong river starting from the mouth of Khan river downwards and because of the environment was contaminated, so it is prohibited for consuming or selling dead fishes from Khan river, Mekong river, these chemical substances may harm people and animals, fishes and other. Thus this notice has been issued to warn the people who live in the mentioned area and please spread this warning notice for everyone's safety.
