To upgrade the Dam ,NamNgeum 1 Project to finiance more than $ US 70,4 million

In the 21 June 2013 in the ministry of Finance, the Ministry was hold a loan ceremony between the government of

Laos and International cooperation organization of Japan for the upgrading Namngeum dam project

the representative Laos government was Mr Santhiphap Phomvihan, the minister of Ministry of Finance and the

representative  Japan cooperation org was Mr Koechi Take-e, the head of JICA based in Laos together with related office and officials

the objection of project to upgrade the power capacity to 40 MW in order to supply the demand of user in the

country, especially in the dry season. at the moment, the dam is able to produce the power capacity approximately

1.025 kwh per year. This project will conduct totally 5 years from 2013-2018.

To upgrade the dam will invest 5.545 million yen or approximately more than 70,4 million USD
