Clarification from US Embassy
In response to speculation that Sombath may carry a US passport, the US Embassy in Laos has issued a letter to his wife stating the embassy has…
“…conducted an extensive search of our U.S. passport database and have found no record that Mr. Sombath Somphone has ever applied for or been issued a U.S. passport.”
