Car ticket service machine to install in Friendship Bridge

 (KPL) Travellers plying between Laos and Thailand by cars via the friendship bridge in Vientiane Capital are expected to use up-to-date ticket reading machine following an agreement signed between the TK Support Company h and the Lao Government.

The new machine will facilitate the travel of passengers and tourists who ply between the two countries through Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge spanning across the Mekong between Vientiane and Nong Khai.

The TK Sup port Company, as a concessionaire for installing the modern machine is expected to provide tickets for private cars passing through the Lao- Thai Friendship Bridge, Head of International Checkpoint of the 1st Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge, Mr. Somboun Souvannachoumkham said at the signing ceremony held on April 9.

This machine will replace staff who check the car tickets and record.

Under the ten-year concession, the TK Support Company will invest US$ 300,000 or about 2.4 billion kip in the installation of car ticket service machines.

The conces sionaire is supposed to pay 7.2 billion kip in the first year of service to the Government and then increase the pay by 3% annually, according to the concession contract.

The concession contract has been signed in Vientiane capital between Head of International Checkpoint of the 1st Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge, Mr. Somboun Souvannachoumkham and General Director of TK Support Company, Mrs. Manivanh Thammavong in the witness of Vientiane Vice Mayor Anouphab Tounalom.
