Progress of preparatory projects for Vientiane 450-year celebration

(KPL) So far, only the renovation of That Luang Square and that of Saysettha Park have been completed while the restoration of another landmark of Vientiane - Vat Sisaket, is 95 per cent completed.

The above-mentioned projects are among the eleven projects planned for the celebration of the 450th anniversary of Vientiane proclamation as the national capital,

Other nine ongoing projects are the construction of new Vientiane Administration office, completed by 45 per cent; the road improvement from Sikhay-fork to Tardthong T-junction achieved by 22.7 per cent; road construction from Non Sa-ard-Houai Teui-Nonh Sengchanh done by 49 per cent; the construction of the Nong Nieng bridge completed by 21.4 per cent; the construction of the China Hall of the Chinese Residents� Association implemented by 65 per cent; the construction of Talat Sao Shopping Mall (phase 2) achieved by 38 per cent; the construction of the Vientiane Traffic Police and Fire-Fighting Division done by 5 per cent; the construction of the Mekong Riverside Park and Embankment with loan from the Republic of Korean government achieved by 19 per cent and the construction of embankment stretches at Vangpho, Na Long, and Vatsob achieved by over 40 per cent.
